Alpha Female Fridays - Dr Randy Lamfel

Dynamic, optimistic with infectious energy and making waves in the medical space our Alpha Female today is Dr Randy Lamfel.

She is a motivational speaker, better known as Doctor Motivation, encouraging people to have a healthy work life balance and catching the joy in the process whilst sharing knowledge about female health and sex topics.She is also the chairperson of Young MD Cultivate which is a mentorship program for Doctors who are not victims of the challenging Healthcare system but pioneers of it's transformation.

Dr Randy Lamfel obtained a MBBCh at the University of Witwatersrand, and has worked as a Medical intern at Helen Joseph Hospital, she then worked as a Medical Officer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology .When choosing a discipline, she knew for sure that she needed to spend time under theatre lights. Her love for theatre and passion for women, drew her into Obstetrics and Gynecology . She currently is a registrar at the University of Pretoria.

The rate of caesarean sections has increased significantly globally over the past few years and the improvement in skill and access to excellent surgical care has lagged behind; which led to her joining the South African Society of Surgeons in Training a great platform for her to pioneer for Obstetrics and Gynaecology as a surgical discipline in SA.She believes in being the change she wants to see.
