Alpha Female Fridays - Amonge Sinxoto

This Friday we shine the light on Amonge Sinxoto ; a public speaker, social entrepreneur and activist. She is also the co-founder of Blackboard Africa, a youth NPO which she founded when she was 15 years old. Amonge felt that it was important for youth to be at the forefront of driving the narrative of the continent into a new direction and came to the conclusion that the tools needed to equip the youth for that are leadership and mentorship.

She has since started impactful movements such as #FanHerFlame and #FuelHisFlame which has positively influenced youth from underprivileged backgrounds. In 2018 she was one of the speakers at the TedxLytteltonWomen with her topic “From Social Media to Social Impact” where she speaks about using social media as a tool to remedy her cause. She's also spoken on other global forums such as Google, Facebook, Howard University and an intimate round table discussion with former US first lady Michelle Obama on "Becoming women of soul and substance".

She's a young global disruptor who's passionate about her cause. She's currently studying towards a BA Social Sciences degree, majors: International Relations and Political Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand. Amonge shows us that you're never too young to fearlessly chase your dreams or to pursue what moves your soul.

“We tend to forget that baby steps still move us forward. Don’t be concerned about the pace, but rather the direction. Secondly, stay in alignment with your assignment. Meaning follow your purpose and take no heed to anything that doesn’t align with that purpose.”
